Whigs, Bull, Organ & Nib
Lions, Partners and Friends enjoyed a day discovering a few of the many faces of Brum. Starting with a visit to the Q.E. Law Courts they witnessed law in action by sitting in on trials after which a mandatory sentence of a visit to The Bull’s Head in the Gun Quarter was not contested. The warm welcome from Rose and her team coupled with some very good food and beer made our “time” inside all too short. Putting aside pleas to remain in the custody of this two hundred year old pub our Walk leader moved us a couple of hundred yards up the road to St. Chads Cathedral where we enjoyed an Organ Recital and the wonderful interior of this hidden jewel on the edge of the Jewellery Quarter. An hour later and after a quick photo we moved deeper into history with a visit to the Pen Museum which celebrates the lives of the manufacturers and workers of this 19th century trade which supplied the world with their products. Our diverse day finished with a ride of a very modern tram and quick dash for a train back home.
