Sainsbury’s contractors Christmas donation in Dorridge
Sainsbury’s and RG Group, the principal contractor for the coming development in Dorridge, have made a Christmas donation of luxury food hampers and children’s clothes to Knowle and Dorridge Lions Club.
The Lions will be distributing the goods to their current charities ahead of Christmas, with 15 food hampers going to a Sifa Fireside shelter, a charity tackling homelessness & alcohol misuse, which the Lions have supported alongside Vision Care for the Homeless.
In addition, an assortment of new children’s clothes are being delivered to the local branch of Women’s Aid, a national charity working to end domestic violence against women and children.
Sainsbury’s Project Manager, Nick Alston, comments: “We’re delighted that the Knowle and Dorridge Lions Club agreed to receive the clothes and food hampers on behalf of these charities. We want to support good causes and local groups in Dorridge as part of Sainsbury’s and RG Group’s commitment to the Considerate Constructors Scheme.”
Knowle and Dorridge Lions Club President, Noel Kinahan, comments: “What a great gesture to donate these gifts at this special time of year to two very special charities. We look forward to working with the Sainsbury’s project team on future activities.”
Initial work at the Sainsbury’s Dorridge site will end on Friday 20th December, recommencing on Monday 6th January 2014
