Lions play Petanque
This week we spent a great evening casting our boules about at the Blossomfield Sports Club, with expert training again required from Barry Cox. For the first time in over 10 years we have been going there the weather was dry & warm, as opposed to cold & wet.
The photos below belie the rivalry as teams of Lions & wives competed for the much coverted winners trophy. Winner for the past 3 years Tony Robson said: “If I have to take that **** thing home again this year I’m resigning from Lions”
When it came to the presentations the old winners trophy had been relegated to 3rd place and was won by Chris Kiddle-Morris, whilst the overall winner Dave Carter was speechless to receive a maneki-neko, especially as he had never been higher than the lower quartile in the past. Christening him Fluke Dave said “I’ll cherish my Japanese waving cat, made in China, & rest assured it will be looking for a new home this time next year”
