Hot weekend leads to increased sales but….
Black Boy manager Russell and Lion Chris Kiddle-Morris make the draw

We enjoyed the heat of the weekend before Easter as much as everyone. The Black Boy P.H. was amazingly busy and customers pleased to help raise funds for our nominated charities – Birmingham St Mary’s Hospice, Prostate Cancer UK, Motor Neurone Disease Association and local causes, but…

Monkey & Princess Eggs melted in the heat of a moment

The £70 basket of perfect Thornton’s Eggs prize suffered in the heat, 2 of the big eggs melting to chocolate puddles in the bottom of their packing. “It was the best weather we have had for our Easter raffle for many years and traditionally we carry the prize around so would-be ticket purchasers can see what they will win,” said raffle organiser Lion Adrian Harris. “We went out into the garden and one minute we had a basket of Easter Eggs, the next 2 were gone. We rapidly returned them inside the pub and made arrangements to replace those that melted”.

Once again this Easter we thank the management of Rigby’s Black Boy P.H. and their customers for the tremendous support given. We raised a grand total including sponsorship from Standley’s Solicitors of £1,467.98.

The winner – Mr Howard from Coventry
