Scroll down to watch the video for some key messages about some of our projects we have been working on from our President Bob Thurtle.
Chairman Bob told the audience about some of the projects we have been working on. If you have any suggestions let us know, we are always interested to hear the community's views about what we need. What do you think we could spend some of the donations on?

Celebrating 100 years since Lions Clubs International was formed in Chicago in 1917, our annual Lions Tea Party, held on Saturday 14th October at the British Legion Club in Knowle, attracted over a hundred of our older residents including a lady who is 102 years old. Our guests were treated to a lovely afternoon tea and excellent entertainment by “Sisters of Songs” Julia & Rebecca supported by daughters Hannah & Luchea.

Once again this Autumn we took 3 coaches full of elderly residents on a fantastic free day out. The weather in Cambridge was warm and sunny as 150 passengers disembarked for the highlights of their day out, exploring the town, shops, college buildings and the banks of the River Cam.
In October we organised the usual free afternoon tea party with food and entertainment at the Knowle Royal British Legion when over 130 locals came along to socialise, eat, drink and be merry
As we approach Christmas we look forward to meeting as many of the 350 senior citizens we have on our list as we can, when we visit their homes to deliver a Christmas card, a box of mince pies and Best Christmas Wishes from the Lions.
If you, your relative, someone you know or your neighbour perhaps is not on our list and lives in B93 would like the Lions to invite them on next September’s coach trip or October’s tea party please drop us a line now.

After the popularity of Bath last September, we have decided to stay away from the coast again this year with a trip to Cambridge. We have laid on 3 coaches for the trip on Tuesday 13 September, and if as we suspect we hope, we shall fill them with elderly residents from our area.
We wont be sending out invites until late July, but if you know of anyone over 65 who lives in Knowle, Dorridge or the surrounding villages like Lapworth, Henley-in-Arden, Barston, Hockley Heath please email us their contact details and we shall add them to our register. Please remember you must return your invitation to receive a ticket, and be able to get to the pick-up points and be mobile and able to be self sufficient in Cambridge.
I understand the Lions will also provide entertainment punting!
There is no charge for the trip, but a donations box will be passed around!
The same register is used to invite local elderly residents to our Tea Party at the Royal British Legion in Knowle on Saturday 8 October. So even if you don’t fancy Cambridge be sure to watch out for your invitation in July. Details of this years entertainment will follow
Knowle and Dorridge Lions helped Paterson Court celebrate the 70th anniversary of VE Day when the residents held a party and really entered into the spirit of the era by dressing in the appropriate uniforms and styles of the period. They all attended, with some guests from Berrow Cotttages, at the residence in Kenilworth Road. The pictures below capture the great time had by all.
“Thanks to the generosity of Lions, not only the residents of Paterson Court but some from Berrow Homes and the local community, thoroughly enjoyed the day” said organiser Bernie Hall.
“The Lions like to help out with donations for local events like this one” says Lion President Barry Dale. “We always welcome approaches and endeavour to spread the funds we retain from our events for local Lions causes as far as we can. If you know of a worthy cause please get in touch.”
